About Me
My name is Jamie (she/they), and I own and operate Welcome All ATX.
As a queer and neurodivergent therapist, I enjoy working with other folks who are often perceived as different. My therapy style is friendly and genuine, and I use humor and honesty to provide my clients with emotional support through their healing journey. Together we will find strategies to provide you with a sense of ease while navigating life with more strength and confidence.
My approach is feminist, trauma-informed, and client-centered, which means I place great emphasis on developing a strong therapeutic relationship rooted in safety and empowerment. My foundational practice is nervous system based, and focused on the healing power of meaningful connection with others. I utilize treatment modalities such as relational neuroscience, narrative therapy, EMDR, and synergetic play.
I am licensed as an LPC Associate in Texas. I am currently located in Austin, TX, and am supervised by Paige Helms, LPC-S.
Outside of my life as a therapist I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, snuggling my animals, creating art, swimming, and rollerskating.
My Experience
You may notice that I have only been a licensed therapist for a short time. My career path is as long and winding as my own ongoing path of healing and self-discovery, so while it took many years to make it here I can finally say that my career aligns with what I do best, which is helping people heal from their past while improving their lives and relationships.
Before becoming a licensed counselor I had a rich employment history of work in the mental health and social work sector. I worked as a youth shelter case worker, low-income housing manager, peer support worker for a suboxone program, and an adult literacy educator. That may sound like a lot of hopping around but I assure you I am older than I look :)
All of these jobs left me wanting to be able to do more for my clients. I was often referring clients to mental health clinics or agencies I wasn’t sure could help, and it was so common that all of the great counselors I knew were not accepting new clients. Many, many years later, HERE I AM! So while in some ways my counseling career is just beginning, there are many other years of experience I carry with me into this profession.
